Bachelor's Dissertation: RCS analysis on marine manoeuvring ships with HF Ground Wave Radar

07/2018 - 06/2019, 94%
Advisor: Prof Wu Xiongbin
Radio Oceanography Laboratory (海态实验室)
Software: FEKO, Matlab, CAD
Theories and techniques: RCS in the resonance region, moving window, FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation), time-frequency analysis, MUSIC (Multiple Signal Classification) & MVM (Minimum Variance Method) algorithm, feature extraction and object identification
Works:
- Precisely modelled four types of ships (fishing boat, cargo ship, ocean freighter, warship)
- Analysed their RCS (Radar Cross Section) manoeuvring characteristics
- Analysed RD (Range-Doppler) spectrums of backward wave results of real targets
- Identified marine targets with HF radar
